Haha aren’t I clever?  Don’t answer that.

Hide and Seek

5 Oct

Hello!  I am not dead.  I’m just in London, which is so awesome that I have not actually had time to update.  Or draw.  So I will be posting comics again, but on a less regular basis.  I’m going to try for once a week.  Also, if you want to read some funny stuff about how food is trying to kill you, check this out: http://www.cracked.com/article_19433_the-6-most-horrifying-lies-food-industry-feeding-you.html

You might notice that one of the facts involves putting wood in your food.  Hmmm…that sounds a little familiar.  Don’t remember my old comics?  Read through and try to see which one might pertain to this particular issue.

Corn Fed

19 Aug

Don’t believe me about corn being bad for cows and for us?  Check out this article: http://www.scientificamerican.com/article.cfm?id=that-burger-youre-eating-is-mostly-corn  It’s pretty informative, despite the guy they quote who’s all, “Mehhh!  Meat should be a garnish!  The animals shouldn’t be fed corn because humans need that corn!”  I just kind of sighed, shook my head, and then moved over that part.  But the rest of it is pretty good.  Also, here’s another reason grass-fed cows are awesome: http://organaholic.com/2011/08/09/can-grass-fed-beef-bring-back-americas-bees/

Oatmeal is Grody

17 Aug

What fabulous dresses I drew!  Speaking of Parmesan!  Have you ever eaten Parmesan Tuilles?  They’re delicious!  All you have to do is drop some shredded Parmesan in little clumps onto a frying pan and wait til they melt and brown.  Then flip using a fork and let brown on the other side.  They’re so yummy!  It’s like crackers without the bread!  And I suppose you could throw some bacon in there, too, if you wanted to experiment…

Go Potty

10 Aug

And the reason I shouldn’t babysit is that I need to look out for my mental health.  I am responsible for two children, the younger of which is portrayed above.  She absolutely refuses to be potty trained, and it is slowly shredding my sanity.

Steamy Comic

8 Aug

I’ve never had tea that color green before….Anyway!  I know this comic was kinda raunchy, but what can I say?  I’m a rebel.  See you Wednesday!

Books Vs. Kindle

5 Aug

Happy Friday!  Sorry for the late post.  I know it doesn’t look it, but I’m actually a hardcore book fan.  I’m one of those people who actually likes turning pages.  I have so many books, and I like it that way.  I’ve even written one myself: http://www.amazon.com/Dreamcatchers-Rebecca-D-Leviton/dp/1449542565/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1312583724&sr=8-1  Also, I am a Harry Potter fan, but I don’t keep them in an airtight case.  I don’t do that for any books.  Seriously.  Also, whether you buy it in book form or for the Kindle, this is a great read: http://www.garytaubes.com/

Whole Grains

25 Jul

Well, that one was fun to draw.  If you would like to know more about how wood gets into your food, you might be interested in this link: http://www.thestreet.com/story/11012915/1/cellulose-wood-pulp-never-tasted-so-good.html  And also, I’m sorry for the somewhat late update.  Work had to come first.  You know, my real job.  The one that actually pays me.

Evil People

22 Jul

Whew, that was a tough one to draw.  I love the way this comic turned out.  They’re such a cute couple, I feel like I should give them names.  Maybe I’ll tie them into my loosely-defined plot-based comics.  Also, if you haven’t seen it/heard of it, a friend drew my attention to another comic that puts across pretty much the same message as this one.  It’s absolutely hilarious: http://theoatmeal.com/comics/literally  You gotta love The Oatmeal!  I’m also kind of a grammar freak (English major.  What’re you gonna do?) so that comic makes me happy on two counts.  See you on Monday!

19 Jul

I would like to start by sending a shout-out to one of my favorite comedians, Sarah Haskins, who already covered the topic of yogurt quite thoroughly in a segment of Target Women.  Check it out here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qMRDLCR8vAE  While I didn’t want to rip off Sarah, I couldn’t keep quiet anymore about how ridiculous these yogurt commercials are getting, so I decided to throw in my two cents…or four panels I guess.  Frankly, yogurt is an okay snack, but it has a lot of sugar, and I think that if you’re trying to avoid sugar, nine out of ten people aren’t going to choose yogurt when they desperately need to kick a craving or indulge themselves.  I also think it might just be a problem that yogurt commercials mainly advertise their products as tasting like other foods that people generally want more.  Chocolate cake flavored yogurt!  Pie flavored yogurt!  If you have a picture of an entirely different food on the label of the food you’re selling, something’s gone wrong.  And that’s my yogurt rant!  Hope you enjoyed the comic!
